Brian Niswender MA,CSCS
Owner/ Director of Athletic Development
Brian has been coaching and playing baseball for over 30 years. Brian grew up in Northern Colorado and played locally at Rocky Mountain High School graduating in 1993. His high school career included many honors including all conference several times as well as All-State his senior year. After graduating Brian continued his baseball career at the University of Northern Colorado. When his playing days were completed Brian started coaching at Rocky Mountain High School and coached for 3 years. During this time he also coached several legion and AABC teams during the summer months.
Brian earned his bachelors degree in exercise physiology from UNC, and continued on for his masters degree in kinesiology and biomechanics from UNC as well. During this time Brian worked for Colorado Acceleration as a speed development coach, and CSU as an assistant Strength and Conditioning coach. In 2000 Brian was hired on as Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2001 he became the Minor League Director of Strength and Conditioning, and oversaw the development of the player performance program. This program was used for several years after Brian moved back to Colorado to start Performance Dynamics. In 2004 Performance Dynamics was started in Fort Collins. It was the only program at this time that specialized in custom designed sports training programs. In 2009 Performance Dynamics was changed to Warrior Sports Training which continues on today.
Brian has had the opportunity to work with players from the little leagues to the big leagues and brings an experience in player development that is unrivaled in Northern Colorado. Over the course of his training carrier Brian has had the opportunity to work with players from organizations that include: Diamondbacks, Yankees, Brewers, Angels, Marlins, Red Sox, Padres, as well and college players from: Missouri, University of Arizona, Kentucky, Arkansas, UNC, CSU, Mississippi Valley State, University of San Diego, and countless junior colleges. Brian has had an 85% success rate with players going on to play in college when they commit to a development program. Brian has also worked with several of the local high schools and completive teams developing programs. Teams include: Fort Collins High School, Fossil Ridge High School, Resurrection, Heritage, Fort Collins Stars, and Fort Collins Youth Baseball.
Lead Performance Coach
Alexus Lopez is a graduate of Fort Collins High School, currently she is working on her degree in Sports Marketing and Kinesiology. In High School Alexus played three years of varsity basketball and competed in the State Final Four her senior year. After playing her freshman year of college basketball at Northeastern Junior College, where they played in the Region IX Championship, she recently retired from playing due to a series of concussions. Alexus trained at Warrior Sports with Brian Niswender for seven years. Alexus feels strongly that a consistent work out program increased her confidence on the court and contributed to her ability to be successful during her competitive basketball career. Alexus is looking forward to a career in helping athletes who aspire to reach their goals in an athletic setting.
